A support worker is a dedicated and empathic individual who provides personal, emotional, physical and social support to an individual so that they may be able to participate fully in daily life.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Essential:

  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle (or reliable transport)
  • Understanding of holistic, person-centred principles

Desirable:

  • Proven experience within the healthcare sector (aged care, disability and community)
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (willing to complete or in progress are accepted)
  • Understanding of medication management principles and implementation
  • An understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards
  • Speaks languages other than English
